Rtist Creative Platform recently welcomed a group of students from Saito University College to its office at GMBB Kuala Lumpur for a dedicated creative profiling workshop aimed at preparing students for real-world creative careers. The session was designed to give students early exposure to industry expectations, digital portfolios, and how a creative platform like Rtist supports talents as they transition into the professional world.

The session began with an introduction to Rtist Creative Platform, where students were introduced to the platform’s role within the creative ecosystem. Rtist operates as a digital platform that connects businesses with verified creative talents across various disciplines, including graphic design, digital marketing, illustration, and other creative services.

During the introduction, students gained a clearer understanding of how creative platforms function, how clients source talents, and what businesses typically look for when hiring creatives for freelance, internship, or full-time roles.

Following the introduction, the workshop transitioned into a hands-on creative profiling session. Students were guided through setting up their individual Rtist accounts, focusing on the fundamentals of building a strong creative profile. This included structuring their profiles clearly, uploading portfolios, and understanding how their work would be viewed by potential clients or employers browsing the platform.

The creative profiling workshop emphasised the importance of presentation, clarity, and relevance in a digital portfolio. Students were encouraged to upload their best work, ensure proper descriptions for each project, and align their portfolios with the type of creative roles they aim to pursue.

Practical guidance was shared on how a well-structured profile can improve visibility and increase the likelihood of being discovered by companies actively looking for creative talent.

The first half of the session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, where students actively engaged by asking about current industry needs and expectations. Questions covered topics such as the skills most in demand, how creatives can stand out in a competitive market, and what companies typically prioritise when reviewing portfolios.

These discussions provided students with direct insights into industry realities, helping them better understand how to prepare themselves while still in university.

In the second half of the workshop

The students were joined by Tony Chua, CEO of Rtist Creative Platform. Tony brought the students on a walk-through of the Rtist office space located within GMBB KL. During the tour, he explained how the space functions not only as an office but also as a creative environment that supports collaboration, meetings, and project work.

Students were introduced to how creative spaces can play a role in professional growth, especially as they transition into full-time creative careers. Tony shared insights on how young creatives can utilise such environments in the future, whether for client meetings, collaborative projects, or simply as a professional workspace outside of traditional office settings. The tour also highlighted how creative hubs like GMBB contribute to the wider creative community by bringing together talents, businesses, and platforms under one roof.

Throughout the session, the focus remained on practical exposure and real-world preparation. By combining platform onboarding, portfolio development, industry discussion, and workspace orientation, the workshop offered students a holistic view of what lies ahead as they enter the creative industry.
