About Me
Hi! My name is Urnus Chua. I am a freelance video editor while working as a full-time lecturer for Advertising & Graphic Design programme.
I have always had a knack for content creating since my studies and have continued to work in related fields after graduation. While there, I developed a comprehensive understanding of the full lifecycle for digital media marketing projects, screen-based as well as print-based projects.
In my previous role as a producer, I managed video & photo shooting projects from start to end which include pre-production, during production & post-production by liaising with suppliers, and managing artists & talents while ensuring shoot costing meets the budget. Through this role, I'm met with the opportunity to work with huge brands such as Petronas, Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM), Costa Coffee & Farmhouse. Besides being a producer, I also act as the account manager for the brand of iBilik, a Malaysia room rental platform, and The Yanwo, a health supplement bird nest product company where I oversee the content posting across all of their social media platforms.
Before my employment as a producer, I also worked as a video editor & cinematographer where I coordinated with the video administration to define and agree on content and video development tasks simultaneously. I have led the Penang Global Tourism promotional video project from idea development to post-production to produce & deliver exceptional content in line with the client’s requirements. I also managed the assembling and editing of video content for various projects including talking heads, variety shows, commercials & events for reputable local brands, and celebrities as well as governments & private institutions such as IOI City Mall, Datuk Nicol David & many more.
On top of that, I have participated in several short film competitions during my studies and 2 of them actually won awards which serves as great evidence of my competence in the field. In addition to my video production experience, I hold a Diploma in Graphic & Multimedia Design and have worked to produce graphic content to boost local SMEs' online marketing & advertising during my internship which I believe would be a valuable experience & knowledge for my career development.
