The Interior Designer is responsible for planning and
executing creative, functional, and cost-effective design solutions for retail
spaces. This includes space planning, material selection, technical drawings,
and managing end-to-end project execution. The role involves cross-functional
coordination with internal teams, vendors, consultants, and landlords to ensure
timely delivery within budget. The designer also supports store maintenance and
contributes to the overall aesthetic and functionality of retail environments.
Job Responsibilities
- Possess a proficient level of experience in
interior design concepts such as space planning, furniture, fixtures, and
product research
- Good communication skills and comfortable
interfacing with cross-functional departments, landlords, consultants, and
vendors
- Demonstrate strong understanding and in-depth
knowledge of layout planning principles, material finishes, and technical drawing
plans
- Manage projects to meet target deadlines and
budgets; conceptualize, execute, and implement creative design ideas
- Follow approved estimating practices consistent
with corporate guidelines to ensure accurate and complete project estimates
while meeting financial objectives
- Plan and organize project execution, oversee
contractors, suppliers, and other resources, and address any queries or
concerns during the process
- Communicate project performance, issues, and
risks clearly and in a timely manner through the required reporting mechanisms
- Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD,
SketchUp or 3Ds Max, Microsoft Office programs, and other related rendering
tools
- Undertake any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the
superior
- Manage the maintenance and upkeep of existing
stores to ensure alignment with design standards
Job requirement
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design,
Architecture, or a related field
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in
interior design, preferably in retail or commercial projects
- Strong knowledge of space planning, materials,
finishes, and construction methods
- Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD,
SketchUp, 3Ds Max, and rendering tools
- Familiar with Microsoft Office programs (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint)
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings
and layout plans
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to
liaise with internal teams, vendors, landlords, and consultants
- Strong project management skills with the
ability to manage timelines, budgets, and multiple stakeholders
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle
fast-paced environments
- Willingness to travel and supervise site works
when required
