Hello and thank you for taking the time to get to know me. My name is Nur Bazilah binti Zainol, and I am a creative individual with a passion for design, data and meaningful visual communication. I come from a strong academic background in mathematics, which has given me a unique lens through which I see the world with blend of structure and creativity.
Currently, I am pursuing my tertiary studies in mathematics, a field that trains the mind to be precise, analytical and logical. However, beyond numbers and formulas, I have also discovered a deep interest in visual storytelling, especially through design and data visualization. This balance between logic and creativity has shaped my approach to any task I take on making me detail-oriented yet imaginative.
Over time, Iāve developed skills in Excel, where Iām able to organize, clean and present data in a way thatās both useful and visually engaging. While Excel may seem technical to some, to me, itās a canvas where data can tell a story through charts, formatting and clear organization. I enjoy taking raw data and turning it into something that can be easily understood and appreciated by others.
In addition to my comfort with data, Iāve also found joy in design work. Whether itās creating clean layouts, aesthetically pleasing visuals or exploring color and typography, I find satisfaction in producing designs that communicate ideas clearly. While I am still growing my experience in this area, my curiosity and willingness to learn help me improve with every project I take on. I believe good design isnāt just about making things look nice but itās about making information accessible, emotions felt and stories remembered.
One of my strengths is being bilingual in Bahasa Malaysia and English, which allows me to communicate effectively in both formal and creative settings. I take pride in my ability to switch between languages smoothly, depending on the audience and purpose. This skill has been incredibly helpful in academic work, group collaborations and even in personal projects, where clarity and communication are key.
I consider myself someone who enjoys working independently but also someone who values collaboration. I am reliable, punctual and respectful of deadlines. I donāt just do things for the sake of getting them done but I care about the process and the outcome. I believe that even small details can make a big difference, especially when it comes to design and data work. Whether itās aligning text just right or making sure numbers in a table make sense visually and logically, I enjoy refining things until they feel complete.
Outside of my academic life, I like to explore platforms like Rtist because they open up opportunities to connect with others who share a passion for creative work. I admire how the platform empowers creatives by giving them space to be seen and appreciated for their unique talents. Being part of such a community motivates me to keep learning, keep experimenting and keep pushing my creative boundaries.
One of the things that motivate me most is the idea that creativity can come from anywhere, even from fields that seem technical or unrelated. My journey in mathematics, for example, has taught me problem-solving, pattern recognition, and logical thinking but all of which are extremely useful in design and visual planning. Itās not uncommon for me to apply mathematical thinking to layout design, spacing or even color balance. I see beauty in balance, symmetry and clarity and I try to incorporate these ideas into my design work.
What sets me apart is my ability to see connections between different skills. I donāt just compartmentalize data and design where I bring them together. Whether Iām organizing survey results into an infographic, building a monthly planner in Excel with clean formatting or designing a visual that represents a mathematical idea, I always try to make the final result both functional and visually appealing.
I am still early in my journey, and I know thereās so much more to learn. But I believe that the right attitude which are being curious, open to feedback and eager to grow are what matters most. I welcome challenges as opportunities to improve. I donāt pretend to know everything but I am confident in my ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools, styles or creative requests.
In the future, I hope to contribute more to projects that merge creativity and clarity, whether in visual storytelling, infographic design or digital organization tools. I would love to be involved in initiatives that help people understand complex information more easily where something thatās especially important in todayās fast-paced, information-heavy world.
What makes me happiest is knowing that something I created made someone elseās life easier, clearer or more inspired. It could be as simple as a well-organized spreadsheet or as expressive as a poster design but when itās done with intention, it can leave a lasting impression.
