About Me

Current Update: 11 February 2026
Hello! I'm currently working as a paid volunteer, half day, at the local community centre where I assist children with special needs with their motor skills, which included doing crafting, drawing, and painting. I also assist similar way for adult with disabilities as well.
Even if I have devoted half of my days for them, I have free times for other personal creative projects until the end of the day, which is from 2PM to 11:59PM.
I'm still open for any remote works where I still able to do my volunteer work during the day. You might found me looking for niche works I can do everywhere. Please feel free to ask me any questions, and please feel free to contact me if anyone interested to hire me for any projects!

Things I have done so far while I volunteered during the day:
- Pitching my personal 2D animation project with short animation.
- Joining art exhibition at local art gallery: Recent one was Jan 2025, "Tanong" at Sabah Art Gallery.
- Doing personal fan art for fandom I have been into lately, only for my small circles.

Abilities:
- Due to my experiences as freelancer (Up and Down) since 2017, I know what's working or not, and willing to have open conversation, such as: Finding a solution to a problem, honesty on review for a project, able to give suggestions.
- Due to my experiences working as a paid volunteer at community centre for special needs, I have a ability on finding a creative way for solutions and also alternative way to think outside the box when discussing about any project (What I need is open-ness during meeting and discussion).
- Prefer continuous communication between myself and clients / coworkers / employee.
- Understanding what clients needs.
- Arranging schedule proposal. Creating timelines of any project, for clarity on how the road of the project will be. (My top priority)
- Time tracking, clear deadlines of each goals, during the process of any project. Such as, two days for rough drafts, including a details of what's expectation when it's reach the final 2nd day. When the expectation / road doesn't meet, discussion must be done along with new deadlines (As long as it is within the whole project's timeline and not beyond the overall deadline).
- Sending report daily for every progress.


Previous Work Description:

Hey there, I'm Valerina, a Digital Illustrator, Comic Artist, and 2D animator from Malaysia! I've had hands-on experience with different studios like SCA and Siung Films, where I honed my skills as a 2D Animator and Art Designer. Now, I'm freelancing!

I'm pretty handy with software like Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony, and others for animation, and Adobe Illustrator, Clip Studio Paint, and Photoshop for illustration. I've even dabbled in designing stickers and notebooks for my personal store on Ko-fi and Shopee.

I'm up for being a webcomic assistant – anything from line art to being the main artist for a Webtoon. Plus, I've been working on educational comics for a Singaporean magazine. If you need cute stickers or stationery designs, I'm your person!

Here's what I bring to the table:

- I've done animation work for kids, illustrated books and magazines, and even designed book covers.
- I'm experienced in storyboarding, motion graphics, video editing, and collaborating with webtoon authors.
- I've got a flexible style that suits different project needs.
