Funny, I should begin an introduction to myself with a quote that doesn’t necessarily portray the order and detail most often required to be a writer in job postings. Inherently, creativity is a spark of madness. How we harness it over the years shapes us as humans and has shaped me as a writer. My little spark of madness made me a writer, copywriter, conference producer, part-time linguist, and full-time Ms Weird Sense of Humour.

Might you have realised I described myself as a Linguist and had a fleeting moment of thought ‘Really?’. As fun as it sounds, it stops as soon as I tell people I majored in Language and Linguistics. The default assumption is I will be judging the opposite party’s language proficiency, accent and grammar. Well, not really. I, too, want to be a well-liked human and not shunned into a dark room where I can’t judge people silently. But, jokes apart, having near-perfect English is an illusion.

Over the years, I have been rather intrigued by the development and the versatile methods English has been used across many careers and industries. I realised that perfection in English is an exaggerated notion that would make even Shakespeare side-eye you, yes, the very man who created words such as bedroom and lacklustre. Thus, here I stand, trying to create a perfect yet flawed version of a cover letter hoping it would catch the right eye.

My creative persona branched itself as a content writer, copywriter, and conference manager over the course of my career. With that, I have developed comprehensive experience developing rich, compelling content for various websites, social media, e-commerce, newsletters, and events.

Now, my colleagues and mates would describe me as a monotonous person with a highly stable temperament, possessing the ability to present myself with a surprising amount of dry humour. Wondering why am I describing myself like a slab of premium steak or a teaser description of an unreleased saga? It’s a subtle and sly indication of the versatility I encompass in my professional expertise (hoping it will be unsuspectingly catchy). Highlights of my knowledge and experiences are as follows:

- Producing content for websites, blogs, social media and events across diverse industries and topics; adhering to style guidelines and driving maximum audience traffic to content.

- Performing market research, producing keywords, presenting succinct and precise information, and communicating effectively with existing,

- Researching, developing and conducting world-class agendas. I specialised in Cloud & Data centre Events in Asia Pacific Region as a Conference Producer (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand & Vietnam).

- Exceptional editing skills to produce professional, comprehensive, reader-friendly & error-free copy; holding a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English Language, majoring in Language and Linguistics from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (Malaysia).

- Developing trusting and lasting connections with peers, management teams, and community and business members to facilitate future partnerships and spark story and contact leads.

Finally, to end it all short and simple, I am someone with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to exploring innovative and newsworthy story ideas and comprehensive topic coverage.
