About Me

Breena graduated and worked in a field where visuals on most parts play an important role; she started her web graphic design career in 2008. She then joined Grey's G2DI, the Agency's web and interactive arm in 2010 working on high-profile accounts such as Alliance Bank, Shell, GAB, and had bagged a few awards during her tenure in the company.

Struggled with chronic depression, she had taken a sabbatical to find herself, which also led her to take the plunge into a whole new industry. Going in blind and fuelled by her passion in all things automotive has made her the Editor in one of Malaysia’s main Automotive media outlets, providing consumers the latest news and reviews by covering new car launches, driving, taking photographs of the newest cars in the market, and writing opinion pieces.

She sees life is just like going on a very long hike; it’s not the goal that matters, but in between is where the lessons found. For Breena, learning and growing never stops.

I write features, conduct interviews, crafting advertorials, drive the latest cars launched in the Malaysian market, product launches, and attend domestic/international which my stories is featured on Motor Trader magazine and online.

My job scope requires me to close the magazine on every Monday throughout the year, which I have closed more than 200 issues so far with event coverage, feature and review stories that count around 1500 words average for each story in order to be as comprehensive as possible, in tune with the title’s direction.

Working closely with the graphic designers and with hands-on adjustments on the magazine layout in InDesign is part of the process.

In addition, I had been creating and developing copy for Proto Malaysia’s second product, Goo KANTEI, a comprehensive vehicle inspection service that inspects used, imported and reconditioned cars up to 344-points – more than Puspakom’s 10-point inspections. My responsibilities is to assist in further refining the Japanese to English translation for training materials, providing copy for the website and writing copy and advertorials for the magazine. Sadly, it is now defunct.

More recently, we now provide clients a themed booklet, which offers readers tips, advice and detailed information on the latest product from the client. I have single-handedly designed and written a pre Hari Raya road safety booklet for the Malaysian petrochemical company from head to toe featuring safety driving advices, the latest products and services, and latest promotions from BHPetrol and Bosch Automotive Aftermarket Malaysia.
