About Me

I have finished an ARB/RIBA-accredited Part II Masters in Architecture at Kingston University London. Throughout my time as an architecture student, I have developed an understanding through perseverance, hard work and iterative methods of architectural experimentation. With a passion to learn, I have consistently shown a gradual improvement in my academics, gained practical experience and would aim to further build the momentum of my development by experimenting in a wider field of design + architecture.

Previously, I had worked with DEKODA and Aqidea Architects Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia which exposed me on a variety of tasks including detailed design drawings, design meetings with clients, and producing presentation images for architectural submissions. During these placements, I was a Part 1 architect assistant where I have demonstrated the ability to contribute to the creative team, meeting deadlines and converse with other external parties. Type of projects varied from detailed bespoke furniture design to high rise residential apartments. Throughout these experiences, I have developed an eye for detail.

I believe that architecture is an important form of art that has to be both practical and pleasing as it forms the spaces where we perform our daily activities. Our memories are molded by the spaces that we use. Hence, context and appropriateness are very important in the design process. Every project would have a unique situation where a bespoke solution, would bring to a more holistic outcome. Learning architecture has thought me a critical thinking process to design, where its application is not limited to mere architecture. This has led me to experiment into a wider field of creative design as a self-employed design consultant. Projects include product design, logo, clothing, and photography.

Having spoken about contextual architecture, I am interested in the idea of creating spaces of contemporary language based on our own local influences. I plan to practice architecture in the near future, in a firm where I will be able to develop an understanding to execute spaces that are not necessarily expensive, but of joy to use and appropriate.
